Saddle up y'all, dust off those cowboy hats and round up your friends and family - rodeo style - for The Mundaring Hotel's NYE 2025 'Hoedown in the Hills' Outdoor Concert!

On Wednesday 31st December 2025, The Mundaring Hotel is proud to bring you Monty Cotton and his four-piece band for an unforgettable night under the stars, as Monty Cotton (aka A Boy Named Cash) channels his Johnny Cash-like voice and crowd-captivating stage presence.

Joining Monty on the night - the luminous vocals of Lady M and the sultry saxophone of Kiran, alongside accompanying drums - combining to deliver a seamless blend of country, rock, R&B and modern pop classics. Expect a high-energy, audience-engaging show that turns the dance floor into the main event—a night to remember as we ring in the New Year together!

It's a night of knee-slappin', boot-scootin', laughter n' cheer with live music, hearty grub from the flamin' BBQ pit, themed drinks, photo booth and plenty of dancing to say "Adios!" to 2025 and kick off the new year in true Western style!

Guys n' gals - Get your best Western wear ready; come dressed in your finest cowboy/cowgirl attire and be in the running for the Best Dressed prizes! (Dress up is optional, of course!)

Gates open strictly at 5.30pm. Live music begins at 6.45pm with local duo act - 'Table for Two' - featuring local artists Craig Dunkling & Flora Wells, playing some favourites to warm up the crowd, before handing over the stage to Monty and his band for their 'Country Music Hoedown in the Hills’! The concert will conclude at midnight, with Monty counting us all into 2025!

An event that is suitable for all ages, bring your friends & family and come along and enjoy outdoor food options from our Flamin' Texan BBQ Pit, a selection of delicious meals from the A La Carte Menu, and beverages from the outdoor & indoor bars.

More about Monty Cotton:

As a seasoned performer and musician, Monty woke up one day and realised he could imitate Johnny Cash! This launched his career as he toured across Australia at pubs, clubs, shopping centres, arts festivals, mine sites, private functions, and preformed on radio, morning television and 'The Voice' Australia.

As a full-time accountant from Sydney, Monty dreamt of becoming a rock n’ roll superstar. For the past 10 years Monty has spent weekends escaping the city to support cover bands as a guitarist, drummer, pianist, bass player, backing singer and more. By chance he auditioned for Australian Idol in 2009 and reached the top 40, narrowly missing out on the top 24. Inspired by this, and success in subsequent local talent competitions, Monty began to chase a solo career as a songwriter and to showcase his rich, deep voice.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This event is a family-friendly event. However due to the nature of the event and timings guardians are required for all attendees under 18 years of age. Responsible service of alcohol will occur at all times.

Is there disabled access?

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is parking available outside the venue. Our FREE TAKE HOME minibus service will operate on the evening. The bus service will travel within a 10km radius from The Mundaring Hotel and run until 01.00. Please arrange directly with the venue for bus bookings if you would like to arrange a drop off within a 10km radius of the hotel. Contact: bookings@mundaringhotel.com.au.

The name on the ticket must match the name of the person who attends the event.

What can I bring into the event?

Yourself, your dancing shoes, your friends and family! Tables and seating available on a first come, first served basis. Food and beverages are available to purchase at the event.

No BYO food or beverages. This includes bottled water. Free water is available.

Can I book a table or space?

Due to the nature and size of this event, we cannot take bookings in the beer garden on this night.
