If you are writing for publication, or an early career author submitting articles to publishers, this workshop offers an opportunity to hear first hand from leading publishing house Elsevier, about what publishers & editors look for when reviewing article submissions for publication.

The session will include an introduction to journal publishing by Fiona Barron, Publisher for Elsevier journals, & cover topics such as identifying appropriate journals, the peer review process & the publication cycle.

Lisa McKenna, Professor of Nursing & Midwifery at La Trobe University and Editor in Chief of Collegian, will discuss the editorial process & offer insights on what editors look for in an article, as well as tips & practical advice on structuring & writing an article.

Topics such as ethics and sharing research will also be covered.

Audience: Nurses & Midwives writing for publication, or begining to write for publication.
