Description

Challenging Your Players: this is Week 1 of a four week program, consisting of

  1. the first week's initial Seminar at the NTIS (duplicated on the previous Monday & Tuesday evenings of the first week)
  2. the previous week's model training session, at a time and place to be advised. You will be required to attend for 90 minutes at the most, on the Monday or Tuesday. The purpose is to observe a proficient coach using the approach(es) covered in the seminar, and
  3. at some time, preferably in the following two weeks (between June 17 and 28), an observation by an NTIS staff member of one of your sessions. The exact time & place will be negoatiated with each coach. Your session is to include some of the concepts introduced in the initial seminar.

It is therefore expected that you, if you register for this series, will be in attendance at the seminar and the demonstration, and willing to try out some of the particular coaching strategies that have been introduced.

These will include:

  • creating effective challenge points to prod players toward continually stretching their boundaries; and
  • identifying and using key learning and motivating moments that inspire players to engage more fully in their own development.
