Supporting your community

The NSW Public Libraries Association recognises that library staff and volunteers provide invaluable support to community members who may be more vulnerable to abuse and neglect, but can often feel unsure about how to help them.

The Ageing and Disability Commission (ADC) is an independent NSW Government agency that works to better protect older people and adults with disability from abuse in their family, home and community. The ADC will be hosting a webinar on 9 June to provide a greater understanding about:

• how they provide information, support or can receive a report about abuse of older people and adults with disability

• training and capacity building

• how to raise awareness in your community.
