NSW Mining Careers Dinner , Illawarra
Date and time
NSW Minerals Council invites you to a free dinner to gain insight into a prosperous career in modern day mining.
About this event
The NSW Mining Careers Dinners provide an opportunity for secondary school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 and a parent or caregiver to experience an interactive and informative event highlighting career opportunities in the mining industry.
The event will include presentations from university and industry representatives, including the personal stories of people in the early stages of their mining career, to showcase the range of exciting and high skilled careers the mining industry offers and inform students about the subjects and study pathways that can lead them into future jobs in the industry.
Mining is critical to the economy of NSW. Over 40,000 people are directly employed in mining in NSW, and mining activity supports thousands more jobs indirectly in more than 7,000 mining supplier businesses across NSW.
As economies around the world continue to develop, so does the demand for our minerals, meaning more jobs and opportunities well into the future.
