SCITECH AFTER DARK 18+
Bionics, Beers & Biotech
Get ready for a night out with a difference at the next Scitech After Dark, which is all about beer, bionics and biotechnology!
Be one of the first to visit Bionic Me – our new feature exhibition that explores the inventive and ingenious medical and industrial breakthroughs that have helped us change how we experience the world. Here you’ll be able to control a computer using the power of your mind, race against a Paralympian, and see how a bionic eye works.
Down in the planetarium be transported through the mysteries of our cosmos in our new Planetarium show, Dark Universe narrated by the one-and-only Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Fresh from his TEDxPerth talks, join Gary Cass in our science theatre, to see how beer, wine and champagne can transform into garments, and how fermented fashion could potentially change the way we produce and wear textile products.
Make your way over to the main floor to discover a myriad of activities to keep you entertained throughout the night. Examine your own cheek cells and find out if you are a “super-taster” with our hands-on biotechnology experiments and even control someone else’s muscles using the power of your mind!
As always there will be bar, zero children (18+ only) and costumes are highly encouraged!
So grab your friends and don your mech-suits for Bionics, Beers & Biotech.
