The family camp will take place at Dryandra Woodland. (Specific travel and camp site location will be shared via email upon booking). For those who have attended before there will be similar activities however it won't be exactly the same. There are opportunities for guided walks, stories, language, art and artefact making. It really is a wonderful weekend and a great opportunity to share as a family.

The draft schedule is:

Saturday

Arrival from 11am for set up and lunch

Welcoming activity 1pm

Afternoon activities

Shared Roo Stew around the camp fire (depending on fireban and risk) 6pm

Fireside stories and games for those awake and interested after dinner

Sunday

Breakfast

Morning activities

Lunch

Closing activity

Formal camp finishes approx 2.30pm

We are inviting people to arrive around lunch time (lunch will be self catered).

We'll have a welcoming activity around 1pm, various activities in the afternoon and a shared meal of roo stew in the evening. There will be a chance for stories around the campfire for those still awake and some evening games for those interested.

After breakfast (self catered) we'll have some more activities and stories and people can leave whenever they wish after lunch (self catered).

There is a fee for the camping site of $10 per adult ($6.60 with a concession card) and $2.20 per child (plus online payment fees). We will arrange payment as a group so please book as many places as you need and there is an additional fee of $160 per family. (Please do contact me on 0406 722066 if this is a concern, we wish for the camp to be accessible to as many families as possible).

People are welcome to stay on longer as it's a public camp however there are fees involved and we will only be managing payment for the one night. Many people last year asked that we extend the family camp however we are unable to do that at this point, we are sorry if this is disappointing.

There is also a chance to 'Pay it Forward' if you would like to contribute to families who may not be in a position to pay.

The camp is looking very popular so we may ask people to share sites that would usually be for one family - we've used this camp a couple of times now and it is great. There's a covered BBQ area, toilet and we'll have a kitchen available (gas stoves and some basic pots and pans) and will provide teas and (plunger) coffee.

Please be aware that children will be the responsibility of parents/guardians at all times. The camp is designed as an intergenerational learning and cultural experience, rather than a child minding program. This is also a drug and alcohol free experience and we would appreciate those who smoke being as discreet as possible.
