Not Australia Day at Sparkke at the Whitmore 2021
Event Information
About this Event
As we move towards changing the date, we also have to change the way we use it. It’s important to change the way we engage with the day.
For many people it is about protest. For many more Australians it is still unclear what (let alone when and how) we are to celebrate.
While many Australians support changing the date, broader national conversations are needed to build genuine understanding and commitment to overcoming the endemic racism that damages Aboriginal people and stains our nation.
Conversations founded in knowledge and respect are a powerful force for change – and we need more of them. We fully acknowledge that in 2021 we need many more activities based around the concepts of respect, reconciliation and the restitution of racial equality.
Please come and be our special guest at this one.
