Description

Are you interested in learning more about how to support families experiencing family domestic violence (FDV) and working with men who are using violence in their relationships?

Are you in a counselling or non-counselling specific field of work where families share experiences of FDV such as health, education, child protection, family centres, early childhood or family law?

This forum will share information about what is available in the Northern Region, how workers from all fields can engage meaningfully with families impacted by FDV with a focus on working with men, We will explore achievable and accessible pathways for men to think about their choices to use violence.

SPEAKERS:

Alan Jenkings: Consultant within both government- funded programmes and in independent practice as a director of Nada Consultants; Alan is the Author of Invitations to Responsibility: The Therapeutic Engagement of Men Who are Violent and Abusive.

Discovering Ethics as Parents and Partners: Working With Men in Family Violence

David Tully: Specialised Family Practice Manager Relationsips Australia SA, David has worked in the area of Domestic violence, childhoood sexual assault and trauma for over twenty years as both Practitioner and Service Manager.

Engaging Men around Ethics to Enhance Readiness for Change: What can we all do to engage men more consistently to create pathways for change?

Amy Ambagtsheer: Senior Project Officer- Perpetrator Interventions. Office for Women, DCSI, responsible for Leading and managing the development of a framework for South Australia relevant to the National Outcome Standards for Perpetrator Interventions (NOSPI).

Enhancing the safelty of women and children; perpetrator accountability and Outcome Standards.

Buol Juuk: Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and CALD Liaison Officer at Relationships Australia SA, White Ribbon Ambassador and author of 'From Tyranny to Triumph'.

Strengthening Restorative Practice among CALD Families: Engaging with CALD Men to address family violence.
