The Nordic region's second seminar devoted to education on surrogacy as a family-building option. Provides talks and panels from parents via surrogacy, surrogacy lawyers, doctors and surrogacy professionals. Will cover the risks, the pluses and minuses, the real costs and how to manage these. Will cover legal surrogacy options in Ukraine, Canada, USA & Greece

What advice will the conference provide?

Parents from Sweden, France, US, UK and Denmark will be available to answer your questions about their surrogacy experiences in Ukraine, Georgia, US, Russia & Canada. Experts from many of these nations will also be providing talks and advice.

In which countries is surrogacy legal for foreigners?

There are protective regulations and laws allowing foreigners to access surrogacy and which provide transfer of parentage in some US states, some Canadian provinces, Ukraine, Georgia, Greece & Russia.

What are the likely costs of surrogacy arrangements?

Surrogacy arrangements typically include medical, legal, surrogate recruitment, surrogate compensation and birth costs. In some countries health insurance and agency fees are also payable. Costs depend largely on IVF success rates and the country you engage in. They can range from US$56,000 – US$155,000.

Following surrogacy arrangements, are the intended parents named on the birth certificate?

In countries where surrogacy is legal, the intended parents can both be named on the birth certificate.

Can Donor eggs be used for surrogacy if I am too old or am a gay man?

Yes, many surrogacy arrangements require donor eggs. The conference will discuss the options available.

Despite surrogacy being unavailable domestically, is there a legal route to bringing a child into Sweden, Finland, Norway or Denmark following a surrogacy arrangement in another country?

Yes. New parents will need to remain in the country that surrogacy took place for two to ten weeks post birth, depending on the country. For Ukraine, ten weeks is average and the legal prosess may include transfer of parentage, sole custody and adoption.

Can my child get Swedish citizenship if they are born in a foreign country via surrogacy?

Yes, the details will be discussed at the conference.
