Description

Join us for the Noongar Bush Sculpture in one of two half day workshops with sculptor, weaver, and award winning artist Janine McAullay-Bott.

Learn how to shape, weave and mold locally sourced palm tree fronds and incorporate other organic materials such as seed cases, leaves, and twigs to create your own extraordinary bush sculpture under the gentle guidance of one of WA’s leading sculptors.

Janine has a growing reputation for her woven sculptures created using her preferred medium, palm fronds from the Queen Palm Tree. She is a regular contributor to Sculpture By the Sea in Cottesloe and in 2009, won the Wandjuk Marika 3D Memorial Award 26th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award.

These workshops will be held at the CWA at 154 Avon Terrace. Fee includes materials and morning tea.

Note: Students are encouraged to bring any of their own materials that they might like to use.
