On July 27 this year, there'll be Nodebots days taking place all over the world!
We'll be playing with Arduino, Johnny-Five, servo motors, LEDs, iRobots, and maybe even some Drones.
Whether you're a hardware/IoT/Robot n00b, or have been welding killer droids since you were in nappies, you're very welcome. You'll learn, explore, and have fun doing it.
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop, and any hardware/robots/drones you'd like to play with. New to hardware hacking? Thanks to NICTA, there'll be some kit to play with, or maybe take the plunge and get a starter kit.
Sparkfun comes recommended.
What will we do?
There'll be some un-conference style presentations to begin the day, and folks on hand happy to get you to "Hello World". Other than that, you're only constrained by your imagination.
We'll provide a venue, power, wifi, lunch, snacks and a drink or two to end the day. We'll also provide lots of extra LEDs and servos if you need them on the day, as well as some of NICTA's own designed ed1 boards for those just starting out to play with (you'll have to give them back at the end of the day). There'll also be some iRobot Creates to experiment with as well, thanks to NICTA
Who's doing this?
Jared Wyles got the ball rolling, NICTA is generously helping feed you, and providing hardware to play with, Web Directions is providing the venue, and a number of folks including Andrew Fisher and Damon Oehlman are providing their expertise
What's it cost?
All this for just $20, just to help us cover catering, and additional hardware.
