Event description

Description

The SBCSJN is excited to be sponsoring what promises to be another inspirational and thought-provoking night for parents, boys and their families, as we celebrate the contributions of refugees and asylum seekers to our nation through hearing their stories.

Facilitated by SBC senior students, our three guests will present their stories:

o Majak Daw, Sudanese Refugee from the Sudan Civil War, North Melbourne footballer, AFL Diversity Ambassador, First Sudanese Australian drafted to an AFL Club

o Bwe Thay, Burmese Refugee, Migrant Student and Community Liaison Officer at Swinburne University of Technology, member of the Refugee Tertiary Education Committee (RTEC)

o Mikhael Touma, Syrian Refugee, Year 11 SBC student, Member of the Student Council

While tickets are free, donations are welcome. The proceeds will be divided amongst charities nominated by our guest speakers.

As our events are often very popular with the community (over 400 people attended each evening), please let us know early if youare keen on coming along.
