Event description

Description

Not your average crafty evening. A creative crafty chat and make session in a cosy studio space in The Patch. Meet locals, make stuff. Chat. What’s said at Craft Club stays at Craft Club. Friendships and Laughter. Soooo much laughter!

We’ve been meeting since April and the Tuesday night class is now full and has the same 8 ladies so I’m offering a Monday night. Here’s your chance to be part of a brand new social group and a closed Facebook group.

There will be tea, coffee, wine (2 bottles per session) with bikkies or cake, sometimes cheese and dips, different craft projects on offer, a pottery wheel to play on or you can bring what you’re currently working on.

Most weeks we will explore a different medium and participants are welcome to continue from the week before.

We have made and have available to learn things like; raffia baskets, wool & rope baskets, mosaicing, painting, pastels, a pottery wheel, white and terracotta clay for jewellery & bead making with lots of glazes and a kiln, decoupage, printmaking, lino cutting, and many more.

As a class we have had sessions on marbling textiles, ceramics and paper as well as macrame pot hanger making with more to come like lead lighting.

Some of us will be doing Christmas markets together.

Why is it not your average crafty gathering? My whole life has been craft and I mentor for NEIS. You are welcome - within the group atmosphere - to ask questions about your crafty business or brainstorm within the group - or not! Just hang out, enjoy, chat make, play and meet other locals.

Who am I? I have a fine arts degree with a glassblowing major, a grad dip Ed in Secondary arts teaching and I started the craft retail rental model for Australia in 2007 (now widely used). - http://isyladerman.com.au/incube8r/

I franchised in.cube8r nationwide, I’ve supported over 800 Australian handmakers over 12 years and now mentor for Holmesglen through the NEIS program as one-on-one mentor.

If you’d like to know my whole craft history, it’s all here - http://isyladerman.com.au/incube8r/2011/04/what-i-do-by-isy-fitzroy/

Come hang out, make and chat.

Only 8 spaces per session.

7pm to 10pm Monday.

$30 per person - UNLESS it’s a special focus class that requires materials like macrame string and glass for leadlight.

Women only. No children. No pets.
