LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Recognise indications for and applications of NIV in relation to common respiratory disease processes
  • Set-up a device and initiate NIV therapy
  • Tailor the type & fit of interface to patient requirements
  • Develop a systematic approach to ABG analysis
  • Titrate NIV therapy and settings in response to changes in patient condition and ABG interpretation
