Event description
Part of the FOTA and NFHM Lecture Series: Kate Vermey: The Life of Curzon Allport : A family and collection divided

About this event

Part of the Libraries Tasmania National Family History Month (NFHM) & Friends of the Allport (FOTA) Event Programs

When Curzon Allport attempted to divorce his wife, Annie, in 1883, the scandal he caused resulted in a rift within the Allport family, leaving them a family (and collection) divided.

In The Life of Curzon Allport: A family and Collection divided Kate Vermey delves further into how Curzon’s greed, narcissism and manipulation of those around him, caused irreparable damage to those around him and changed the Allport family forever.

Please note: This talk was previously titled: The Life of Curzon Allport part two: The Aftermath, and has been renamed to avoid confusion, as it is a stand alone presentation and part of National Family History Month (NFHM) and Friends of the Allport (FOTA) programs.

If however, you would like to know more about the events from1883 which precede this talk, please see below.
