We think the answer is a massive yes, which is why we’ve developed a brand new BYO laptop session on this topic where we’ll give you the rundown on all your options when it comes to Facebook Messenger Marketing, answer your questions and take you through the steps of creating automated responses on your Facebook page and your first bot (or enhance what you may already have in place).

SESSION ONE - The basics of Facebook Messenger Marketing:

Level: Intermediate

Pre-requisites: You must already have a Facebook Business page. You must already be an admin on this page.

NOTE: it is recommended that you have engaged in our Facebook for Business and / or Facebook Advertising workshops first.


  • The shift in consumer behaviour towards Messenger - stats and facts about how more and more people are using Messenger and why.

  • The basics of creating a Messenger presence on your business Facebook page - minimum requirements you must meet before you can benefit from the power of messenger marketing, and orientating you around the settings area of your page to find your messenger settings

  • General messenger settings - How to prompt people to send messages via your page, Help people to start a conversation with your Page by showing frequently asked questions to make it easier for people to start a conversation with your business.

  • Response assistant - How to show a Messenger greeting or setting up automated responses on your Facebook page - away messages, instant replies, automatically responding to common questions, automatically responding to feedback, automatically communicating about job applications received via Facebook

  • The ‘all in one’ inbox - How you can use your Facebook business page to monitor comments and messages from your Facebook + Instagram page in the one location

  • How to keep internal notes and labels on people who message you through your page for future reference - a basic and free CRM of sorts on your prospects and clients who interact with you on this platform

SESSION TWO: An introduction to basic chat bots


Level: Intermediate to advanced

Pre-requisites: You must already have a Facebook Business page. You must already be an admin on this page.

NOTE: it is recommended that you have engaged in our Facebook for Business and / or Facebook Advertising workshops first.

A chatbot is a service, powered by rules and sometimes artificial intelligence, that you interact with via a chat interface. The service could be any number of things, ranging from functional to fun, and it could live in any major chat product (Facebook Messenger, Slack, Telegram, Text Messages, etc.) For the purposes of this session we will explore ManyChat and its practical application with Facebook.

  • What are chatbots and why your company might need one

  • What companies are using them and how

  • What your options are for creating a chatbot - DIY and getting it done for you

  • Understanding your existing website & social network/s and how your chat bot might interact with these

  • Objectives you can fulfil with bots

  • Considering the brand voice for your bot (how you will talk, what you will talk about)

  • Types of bots you can create

  • Case studies that explain just how well Messenger campaigns can work

  • Create a comment to bot automation widget!




ABOUT YOUR PRESENTER

Katrina Lees

The presenter for the event will be our founder, Katrina Lees.

Kat is one-half of the dynamic duo that heads up The Creative Collective and has been working with businesses for upwards of 10 years implementing digital marketing campaigns, developing cutting edge websites and consulting on strategy.

Kat has worked with literally hundreds, if not thousands of businesses on everything from design, web development, social media and more.

Katrina has worked across a broad range of industries and sectors including retail, fashion, manufacturing, printing, property investment, real estate, business coaching/consulting, accounting and financial services. Her natural entrepreneurial skills have seen her working in management and supervisory roles since 16, and her passion for business and logical insights adds enormous value to the businesses she works with. Katrina has a well-rounded and in-depth knowledge of all things design and marketing (online and offline) and high understanding of business management.

Kat enjoys passing on her wisdom and therefore is one of our leading trainers for The Training Collective based in Newcastle.

Timing: We suggest you arriveat 830am for a 9am start. This allows you time to park, set up, get on WiFi, network with other attendees and the trainer and resolve any issues to start promptly at 9am.

BYO Equipment At these interactive workshops we encourage you to bring your own laptop (not iPad or tablet). You will have the opportunity to network with others, so bring business cards!

Cancellation Policy: Should you be unable to attend, a substitute delegate is always welcome at no extra charge. An admin fee will apply for missed trainings. Regrettably no refunds can be made except if the event minimum numbers are not reached.

Minimum numbers: This workshop requires a minimum of 5 attendees to go ahead – if the minimum attendee number is not reached, a full refund or credit of the training fee paid, will be given to attendees who have already paid. Accommodation and travel is booked at the risk of the attendee.
