Join us to get to know the Newbury Buddhist Monastery (NBM)!
A delicious lunch (cooked by a professional Chef) will be catered. So no need to cook and bring food to the NBM on this day. Donations to help with the NBM Building Development project will be most welcome.
Below is what you can expect on the day:
10am: Guests arrival
10:15am: Blessing/chanting
10:30am: Rice almsround and lunch
12:30-1:30pm: Introduction about NBM, its projects and how to get involved
1:30-3pm: Site tours to monk and nun areas (where the kutis/huts and common areas will be built) - Please wear a comfortable walking shoe for the tour.
The Newbury Buddhist Monastery (NBM) is a Monastery located 70 minutes from Melbourne CBD. NBM is unique in that it is only one of a very few monasteries in the world and the very first in Victoria that support both Bhikkhu and Bhikkhuni ordination and practice. Currently the monastery functions under a few refurbished buildings.
To go to the NBM:
- You may wish to make your own way to the NBM; or;
- You may wish to join a BSV organised bus departing from the BSV Buddhaloka centre at Malvern East. The fare is $20 person to cover for the hiring of the bus. The bus will leave BSV Buddhaloka centre at 8:15am sharp.
