New World takes on Old World classics with Huon Hooke (Sydney)
Event Information
About this event
Join us on Wednesday, 18th of May 2022 at Corso Brio by Bel & Brio in Barangaroo, Sydney.
The title of this dinner is a phrase with new resonance in the 21st Century as Australian winemakers embrace more of the wonderful but long-neglected grape varieties of Old World countries.
Italy’s fiano, vermentino, friulano, pinot bianco, barbera and nebbiolo are grapes with a whole new story in Australia. The same with France’s savagnin and viognier, while our syrah is a new take on the old workhorse shiraz, and grenache is being reinvented in exciting new ways.
Huon Hooke will taste through these wines, looking at what to eat with them, as well as sharing stories and insights about the wineries.
Price AUD $235 per person.Includes four-course dinner and 12 matched wines.
The wines are available to purchase directly from the winery cellar doors online. Order now by clicking Buy Direct below.
