Event description

Description

Join us for a run/walk, yoga, meditation and green smoothie as the New Normal Project present their first New Normal Sunday. Chose whether to run or walk along the St Kilda foreshore before a 40 minute yoga session at Melbourne's most stunning fitness venue, Up! Athletic at the brand new St Kilda Life Saving Club. Stare at the horizon, where Port Phillip Bay meets the sky, in a class gentle enough for beginners with more challenging options for experienced yogis. Then settle the mind with a guided meditation before finishing with a delicious green smoothie and mingle with others keen to try out a 'new normal'. You will feel energised, inspired and nutured going into the rest of your Sunday.

Included:

  • Running tips from Rohan Armstrong, osteopath and owner of Runwell Marathon and Running Coaching
  • Fitness tips from Melissa Armstrong, trainer and owner of Up! Athletic
  • Yoga and meditation by Emma Cartwright and Atika Fravel from Body Flow Yoga
  • Green smoothie by The Health Bowl at the Prahran market.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase the latest book by Julie Piatt 'This Cheese is Nuts', 'Living the Plantpower Way' by Rich Roll and Julie Piatt, 'Finding Ultra' by Rich Roll.

FAQs

Who should attend this event?

Anyone interested in health and wellbeing. You may be a runner curious to explore yoga or meditation or perhaps a committed meditator wanting to kickstart into a more physically active lifestyle.

This event is for young, old and inbetween, runners, walkers, yogis, meditation afficionados, those who are plant based or vegans and those who are plant curious. If you've been feeling alone on the journey into your 'new normal' come along and connect with others on their own path to fitness of the mind, body and soul.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

If you are keen to bring children, we ask that they be 12 years or over. Unfortunately we can't offer a discount for students or children. There's so much to do in St Kilda- meet them afterwards and go visit the St Kilda Esplanade Market, walk along the beach or check out the swanky new Stokehouse right next door.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Car: Ample car parking is available in a large car park across from St Kilda Life Saving Club. Enter from Jacka Boulevard or Lower Esplanade off The Esplanade. There is also parking along Jacka Boulevard all at council rates of $12.30 per day or $5.10 per hour with coin or credit card facilities available for payment.

Trams: Stop number 138 - Luna Park/The Esplanade. Trams 16, 3a and 96.

Train: Take the Sandringham line, get off at Balaclava Station and take number 16 tram to Stop no. 138, Luna Park.

Bike: Melbourne Bike Share Station is located directly outside the Palais Theatre, very close to the event. If riding your own bike, a rack is situated outside of the venue.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one, if not there will be some available for use. Please don't go out and buy one!
