Description

On behalf of William Buck and Hadassah Australia, I’d like to personally invite you to this special event with Professor Eyal Mishani, Head of Cyclotron / Radiochemistry unit at Hadassah Hebrew University.

Increasingly, the world is looking to Israel for advances in medical research and development. As one of Israel’s leading healthcare pioneers, Professor Eyal Mishani is a widely-published and internationally-acclaimed researcher. Professor Mishani is credited with transforming Israel’s clinical diagnostic approach through the use of Fludeoxyglucose (FDG) in medical imaging; as well as research projects in various fields of nuclear medicine molecular imaging. Most notably his research on imaging EGFR in cancer was a pioneering endeavour from which several research reports have been emanated by others and where collaborations with numerous hospitals and research facilities throughout Israel, resulted in new, innovative methods of cancer diagnosis.

Predominately, his research aims is to develop molecular imaging methodologies to explore the in–vivo mechanism of various biochemical processes under normal and pathological conditions and translate them into imaging of diseases.

During his presentation, Professor Mishani will explore new frontiers in PET/CT molecular imaging, sharing some of his case studies and highlighting the rapid change in technologies to the industry.

At the close of the presentation you will have a unique opportunity for questions and discussion with Professor Mishani and other attendees.

Professor Eyal Mishani

Head, Research & Development Division, Hadassah Medical Organization
General Director, Research Fund of the Hadassah Medical Organization
Head, Cyclotron /Radiochemistry Unit, Hadassah Hebrew University Hospital.

Professor Mishani, graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Tel Aviv University with distinction in 1990. In 1994 he received his Ph.D. in the field of Organic Fluorine Chemistry with distinction from Tel Aviv University. From 1994-1996, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Washington University, St. Louis, MO, in the field of PET molecular imaging.

In mid-2014, Professor Mishani was appointed to be the Head of the R&D division at Hadassah, the General Director of the Research Fund of the Hadassah Medical Organization (RFHMO) and a board member of Hadassit, the technology transfer company of Hadassah. Professor Mishani has published over 85 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has five patents in the field of imaging protein tyrosine kinases and AR in cancer. Professor Mishani oversees the vibrant research and development program at Hadassah, which is committed to advancing and developing the field of medicine in Israel, by translating research insights into practical advances that both prolong and enhance quality of life. Today the Fund employs 300 researchers.
