Neuroscience, Parenting and Practice Workshop

Relationships Australia NSW brings internationally renowned speaker Nathan Mikaere-Wallis to present a two day workshop.
Drawing together ground breaking information from neuroscience, attachment theory and child development, this two day workshop covers:
Day 1: The Child’s Brain : ‘Evolution from Conception’- Cutting edge research on the first 1000 days of brain development, from conception, informs us about attachment experiences within a continuum of risk and resilience.
Day 2: The Adolescent Brain: ‘Shut for Renovation’- A neuroscience perspective shines a light on our adolescents’ at times challenging behaviour and offers a fresh approach for evidence based professional practice and parenting.
Panel discussion on Day 2: Discussion on proven strategies for professionals to work together for the best outcomes for children, young people and their families. Panel members: Nathan Wallis, Dr Michael Fasher (Influencer and GP sepcialising in family health care and pioneer of wrap around service provision), Louise Elkington, Practice Leader in Family Dispute Resolution at Relationships Australia NSW, specialist in child inclusive practice, and team members of the Relationships Australia NSW Adolescent Mediation (RAPS).
Nathan Mikaere Wallis is an educational psychologist with a practice background in teaching, counselling and child therapy. He presents research in a highly engaging, informative style, with humour and in a language we can all understand.
