Neurology and Gerontology Physiotherapy Research Forum
Event Information
About this Event
We warmly invite you to attend this year’s Neurology and Gerontology Physiotherapy Research Forum. It will be a great opportunity to find out about some of the latest Melbourne-based research and connect with your fellow clinicians and educators. We will be hearing research updates from The University of Melbourne and our four major clinical schools (Austin Health, Western Health, Melbourne Health and St Vincent’s Health). We are also excited to have keynote presentations from A/Prof Cathy Said and Dr Kate Hayward.
A/Prof Said is the inaugural Associate Professor Physiotherapy, Western Health and The University of Melbourne. She has over 25 years experience as a physiotherapist working in neurological and gerontological rehabilitation and her research interests focus on gait, balance and falls. Cathy will be presenting briefly on the new ‘Safe Exercise at Home’ website, launched to help older Australians stay active during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Hayward is a Senior Research Fellow in Stroke Recovery in the Department of Physiotherapy and has an appointment at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. Her research seeks to understand the brain-behaviour nexus during rehabilitation after stroke. Kate will be presenting on key frontiers in post-stroke motor recovery using current research projects as illustrative examples.
Please share this invitation with your staff and colleagues and register via the link below. There is no cost for this event, and it will not be recorded.
