You need to have…Successfully completed Network Connectivity Fundamentals - Twisted Pair Standards and Conformance testing course.

Objectives and Content

The objective of this course is to provide the participant a clear understanding of changes to the industry standards along with new test methods and changes to the industry that have occurred in the last 2/3 years

Course content includes:

Standards updates on the performance standards – what has changed

Conformance assessment requirements – what is needed

New designation contained with AS/NZS 11801.x – what it is now called

Cable types and selection criteria – what needs to be installed

Minimum requirements for common applications – what cable is needed for an application

Risk Minimisation – what are the risks and how do you minimise them

Emerging technologies – what is new that maybe asked for

- Modular plug terminated links (MPTL)
- DC Resistance un-balance
- Disconnect underload
- Service consolidation points (SCP)

Test Equipment – check that you know how

Inadvertent misreport of compliance – When does a green tick mean fail

- Incorrect configuration
- Calibration
- Alien crosstalk exemption requirement
- High Level analysis

Course Outcome/Qualification

After the successful completion of this training course, you have been recognised to have required skills to carry out testing and resolve issues to establish installation conformance for twisted pair installations.

A Statement of Completion will be award for successful candidates.

The successful completion of this course is a prerequisite to maintaining ECO Expert Qualifications.
