Description

NDS invites executives to the first offering of the NDS Leadership Innovation Network for 2017-18.

The NDS Leadership Innovation Network has been established to support executives working in the disability and related sectors to manage organisations through complex change.

Led by Rhys Edwards of RDME Consulting, and engaging a series of guest speakers, the 6 part workshop program will cover topics on:

  1. Adaptive leadership - 29th August 2017
  2. Innovation and customer centricity - 26th September 2017
  3. Quality and Safeguarding - 8th November 2017
  4. Boards and Executives – Diversity thinking - early February 2018 (TBA)
  5. Innovation and reform lessons from other industries - late March 2018 (TBA)
  6. Ethical leadership and Decision Making - early May 2018 (TBA)

The workshops are designed to provide a relaxed environment that will enable exposure to new ideas and ways of thinking and, a space for reflection and discussion with peers.

The first session will be The Practice of Adaptive Leadership. This session will cover leadership models – particularly the work of Ronald Heifetz on adaptive leadership. The group will discuss characteristics of good leaders, the personal costs of leading, and the role of “system leaders”. Part of the session will be to explore the issues facing leaders in the NDIS provider space and a discussion about future areas of interest.
