Event description
WorkAbility Qld invites you to an online forum to hear the latest findings about the NDIS workforce for this region.

About this event

Want to understand the continuing impacts of the NDIS in South East Queensland to secure your organisation’s future?

The WorkAbility research project is a partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and Global Community Resourcing investigating the workforce demands and skills & training needs arising from the implementation of the NDIS in Queensland.

Research explores continued regional jobs growth, emerging roles, workforce demand and supply, and skills and training needs related to the NDIS workforce in six NDIS regions: Brisbane North, Brisbane South, Townsville, Mackay, Ipswich and Toowoomba, as well as state wide.

This forum will present findings from the Brisbane North and Brisbane South research reports and explore practical solutions to local workforce needs, as well as discuss a set of five action research case studies that are taking place as part of the second phase of research activities.

Who should attend: NDIS providers, workers and sole traders, training and education providers, regional and economic development agencies, and other people with an interest in the economic and workforce impacts of the NDIS

WorkAbility Qld has been developed by a consortium of peak bodies in collaboration with key government agencies. The consortium includes:

  • National Disability Services (NDS)

WorkAbility Qld aims to work collaboratively with the sector, government and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to meet the identified needs of the sector in Queensland, and to build the sector workforce supply and capability to meet demand under the NDIS.

Through the Strategy, NDIS providers and workforce will have the opportunity to access support and training, as well as workforce data and intelligence that will help to build knowledge and skills and enable organisations to effectively plan their workforce to meet the needs and demands of the sector into the future.

WorkAbility Qld provides real benefits for people, linking them with exciting and valued work and careers and builds community through social and economic opportunity.
