Event description

Description

This evening will provide an opportunity to discuss the learnings from The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**k, chat with like-minded friends, do an activity or two and get everyone prepared for book 8!

What to expect: Networking with your peers till 6pm. This is a chance to catch up with friends from previous events and have a chat about life. At 6pm we will have a group discussion on the previous book - The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**k - about key learnings from each attendees perspective, maybe some stories on how it has impacted your life already and what you plan to do with this information. A couple of quick activities to get the brain working and then we will introduce the next book...

This month's book is The number 1 best seller - The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**K: A Counterintuitive Approach To Living A Good Life by Mark Manson.

In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be "positive" all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people.

For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F**k positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let’s be honest, shit is f**ked and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn’t sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is—a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let’s-all-feel-good mindset that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT AHEAD OF THE EVENT:
1. What is the one key takeaway that you plan to implement?
2. What, if anything, has changed in your life as a result?
3. Did you have a "A-Ha!" moment during this book?
4. Is there anything you plan to teach or pass on to other people from this book?
5. Any book suggestions for the club?

THE NEXT BOOK....Minimalism: Live a meaningful life by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemu.

Minimalism is the thing that gets us past the things so we can make room for life's most important things-which actually aren't things at all.

At age 30, best friends Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus walked away from their six-figure corporate careers, jettisoned most of their material possessions, and started focusing on what's truly important.

In their debut book, Joshua & Ryan, authors of the popular website THE MINIMALISTS, explore their troubled pasts and descent into depression. Though they had achieved the American Dream, they worked ridiculous hours, wastefully spent money, and lived paycheck to paycheck. Instead of discovering their passions, they pacified themselves with ephemeral indulgences-which only led to more debt, depression, and discontent.

After a pair of life-changing events, Joshua & Ryan discovered minimalism, allowing them to eliminate their excess material things so they could focus on life's most important "things": health, relationships, passion, growth, and contribution.
