Description

What is it?

Imagine something that combines the benefits of embodied practices like yoga, with mindfulness, and the benefits of psychology and social connection - all in a natural setting.

With a focus on slowing down and awakening the senses, our gentle walks involve a series of guided invitations to help relax, become present and make contact with nature. The experience invites room for listening, healing and reflection, for quiet and accepting presence, and for inquiry through all the senses, in a non-judgmental setting.

If you are overwhelmed by the noise and 'busyness' of modern life, then come along to destress, relax, restore and reconnect.

Benefits

Research shows that there are many important benefits from spending time in nature for mental, physical and social health – our general wellbeing. Benefits include: boosting the immune system, improving mood, decreasing blood pressure, restoring attention, reducing headaches, reducing stress, anxiety and fatigue, which contribute to improved sleep.

Like yoga and meditation, the benefits of this practice are enhanced and deepened through regular practice.

About me

I am training to become a certified 'Forest Therapy Guide' with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. These walks are part of my training practicum.

In future, Conservation SA will be offering these walks at additional locations, and for an increased price.
