Event description
Come explore the wonderful Morialta Conservation Park, as we solve puzzles and look for clues on a daring outdoor adventure!

About this event

** Due to high demand, an additional 20 tickets will be made available on September 18th 2021**

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to navigate to key locations marked on your map, where you will need to solve a puzzle or riddle to locate a special treasure. Find and record all the treasures to conquer the challenge! Sort of like an escape room, but out in nature!

This event is suitable for ages 5+, but caregiver/parental supervision is required for participants under 12 years of age. This event is ideal for young families and anyone who enjoys spending some time outdoors. You can participate as a team or as an individual.

Event runs from 11am-2pm on Saturday October 2nd 2021. Participants can arrive at anytime between 11am-12:45pm to start their scavenger hunt/orienteering challenge (takes approximately 60 minutes to complete). Participants are encouraged to complete the challenge at their own pace or compete in our "speed run challenge".

The Nature Scavenger Hunt/Orienteering Challenge takes place on the Morialta Conservation Park First Falls Hike. This track is a wheelchair and pram friendly, easy hike which extends from the First Falls Carpark to First Falls. For more information on track difficulty, visit https://www.walkingsa.org.au/walk/find-a-place-to-walk/morialta-first-falls-walk/.

We will have a start/end station set up at the First Falls Carpark (look for our big Roots & Shoots banner), where you can sign-in (log your start time and collect your map/clues). We will give you a short safety briefing and challenge instructions when you sign-on. We ask that you sign-out at this station once you've finished, so we can record your success on our leaderboard and ensure that everyone has made it back safely.

Entry into Morialta Conservation Park is free. Car parks are available along Morialta Falls Rd. There are also two carparks along Stradbroke Rd (near the Nature Playground). Please note that it is a 15-20 minute walk to the First Falls Carpark from the Stradbroke Rd carparks. Please use designated parking spaces. Any illegal parking may lead to damage/vegetation erosion and can result in fines being issued by the Park Rangers.

Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is strongly encouraged to ensure we have enough maps/certificates on the day.

Please adhere to COVID guidelines, keeping 1.5 m from other participants.

Event is hosted by Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots (South Australia Team). Any event questions/queries can be sent to sa@janegoodall.org.au.
