Kids In Nature Network in collaboration with Hume City Council is hosting the 2021 Nature Play Week Launch Event on Wednesday April 14 from 10.30 am-12.30 pm. This event marks the start of 12 days full of nature play events all over Victoria and beyond.
The Launch will start with a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Traditional Owner Aunty Di Kerr. Mayor of Hume, Cr Joseph Haweil will open the event followed by local speakers and an official opening message from DirtGirl who will be joining us via the big screen.
There will be a range of nature play activities to choose from. Join the Nature Crew with teepee building and mud play, or join Jo Russell, an Indigenous educator who specialises in native bush foods on a Bushtucker Walk n Talk, or parent and bubs relaxed nature time by the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. Join children’s book writer Penny Harrison as she reads from her new book, meet Travis who runs the Woodlands Eastern Barred Bandicoot restoration project or join Tania from Nurture in Nature with her Nature Bus as she leads you on a Story Book Nature Trail where stories and a love of nature come to life. Let your imagination run wild!
