Explore and have a closer look at our biodiversity with a Bug Blitz in our coastal bushland

About this event

John from Bug Blitz will bring in some of his friendly creatures to investigate and we will go on a nature walk to explore out natural environment and discover what bugs and creatures share our bushland on a biodiversity blitz.

We may even be able to discover some new species!

Bring your binoculars, magnifying lenses or camera if you want to get a closer view or document your findings.

Fun for all ages. Parents / careers are required to stay and invited to join in.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for bushwalking and the weather conditions

Bring your water bottle.

Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Dr John Caldow has a PhD in environmental education. He specialises in outdoor field edu- cation, focussing on biodiversity conservation in wetland habitats. Being the Program Director for Bug Blitz Trust since its beginning, John has de- voted the last 15years to learning about inver- tebrates “The little things that run the world”. Of them, spiders have become his favourite group to study. John has lived on a 40acre bush property in Gippsland’s alpine foothills for 25years, which he has reserved for nature
