About this event

Join us for some nature art and craft where we will focus on close observation of texture and colour, using interesting objects borrowed from nature eg seeds, feathers, pebbles, plant matter, bark, grasses.

Workshop participants can help to make a large group mandala from the natural objects and then use observation to colour a pre-printed A4 or A3 mandala designed by Suzi Lucas.

These mandalas will be specifically themed to suit different species that are threatened on the Gold Coast e.g. glossy black cockatoo, greater glider, etc. This will spark curiosity and conversation around the species and habitat, struggles to survive, etc and what we can do to help the species in practical ways. It will also help to develop colour identification and mixing skills, using watercolour pencils.

Suitable for ages 5-12 years. Adults and children must have a booking.

Do not register children under the adult ticket section as we only have a limited number of kids per session.

Presented by Green Heroes

Supported by Division 9 Councillor Glenn Tozer
