Be immersed in the secret lives of frogs and learn about the diversity of frogs on the Gold Coast and how so many species can coexist
About this event
The Gold Coast is home to almost 40 species of frogs, a number of which are listed as threatened under State and/or Commonwealth legislation. The relatively high diversity of species on the Gold Coast is largely due to the substantial amount of preserved habitat and the variety of the habitat types present. This includes swamps, marshes, ponds, dams, creeks, streams and rivers in dry forest, wet forest and rainforest. Some frogs are even found in highly disturbed urban areas, and may make your backyard home.
The presentation will explore frog diversity through photos and sound and also provide information on the lifecycle of the frog and the import role frogs play in the environment.
Suitable for adult learning. Not suitable for children. register for further location details.
