Join us for a bus tour as we visit two local bushland reserves and discover the beauty of native Cumberland Plain Woodland flowers in bloom. You will discover the beauty in these often tiny flowers, and hopefully leave the tour with a greater apprecaition of the rare and precious plants found in our bushland reserves around Blacktown City. Your guide will be one of our knowledgeable experts from our Natural Areas team.
This is a free event for Blacktown City residents. Places are limited and booking is essential. Click on the 'select date' dropdown and choose a tour time that you want to book in for, and then complete your booking.
What you need to know before booking
We will be getting on and off buses, and walking around in bushland areas and on some uneven ground so a reasonable level of fitness and sturdy shoes will be required. We regret that this tour may not be suitable for people with reduced mobility or those with small children.
There are two tour times you can select from. Please choose which time you would like to book into at the time of registration. If your prefered time is already full then try the other time slot. If this tour books out your name will be added to a waitlist and you will be contacted via email if a seat becomes available.
We are still finalising details in terms of bus pick-up points and the route map. At this stage we will be departing the tour from the Blacktown City Council Rooty Hill Works Depot on Station Street, Rooty Hill. However this may change closer to the date. Registered attendees will be contacted via email prior to the event with final details.
Please be aware that failure to show up on the day without prior notification that you are unable to make it may forfit your right to book into future events. As this is a popular tour we expect to have a waitlist of people who want to attend. If you can't make it please let us know so we can offer your ticket to someone else. Phone us on 9838 6055 or email email@example.com
When & Where
Blacktown City Council
The Sustainable Living Workshop series is run by Sustainable living Blacktown, an initiative of Blacktown City Council.
New workshops are announced on eventbrite, the BlacktownCityCouncil facebook page, and the Council website, and our Sustainable living Blacktown newsletter. Please be aware that bookings open approximately 6-8 weeks in advance of each workshop.
Please note some workshops and events have a fee associated with them to cover material costs and expences. Fees will be listed on the event page. Payment must be made online at the time of booking.
Workshop places are limited. Booking is essential. You must register to attend a workshop either via eventbrite or by calling 9839 6055 during office hours.
Do you live outside the Blacktown City Council area?
Our workshops are heavily subsidised or provided free to residents with costs covered by our ratepayers. Blacktown City residents will get priority over non-residents when booking. If you are a non-resident do not book online, instead please phone us and you will be put on a waitlist. You will be notified before the workshop if there is available space. There may be an additional fee for non-residents.
Workshop changes and cancellations
Some workshops may be postponed due to low numbers, or other circumstances outside of our control. If this happens you will recieve an email notification. A reminder/confirmaiton email is sent 48hours prior to the event to confirm the workshop is going ahead.
Unable to attend or want to cancel your ticket?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an event so places can be offered to others on a waiting list. You can also cancel your ticked online through eventbrite. Frequent non-attendance at events may result in events being cancelled and individual bookings being refused or given lower priority booking status.
Unless specified, these workshops are not suitable for children under 15yrs.
