The Native Plant Giveaway provides residents the opportunity to receive two free native plants per household. Using local native plants in your garden can attract native wildlife, are better suited to the local soil type and require less water than introduced plants once established. It's a great way to improve your garden and contribute towards preserving biodiversity across the region.

Plants are supplied by Lake Macquarie Landcare Nursery, which also sell directly to the public, with prices starting from $4 per plant. http://www.lakemacquarielandcare.org/plant-sales-by-appointment-only/
