National Youth Settlement Framework Panel
Event Information
About this Event
MYAN is excited to invite you to a national online event exploring how organisations have been applying the NYSF in practice.
This panel will be an opportunity to learn directly from diverse practitioners working on the ground in youth and settlement support across Australia about:
- What the NYSF means in practice ‘on the ground’,
- The value of the NYSF in supporting good practice in service planning and delivery (including addressing challenges),
- How it has been embedded in service delivery, and
- How they have used the NYSF tools (including the Self-Assessment Guides).
- The event will also include a discussion about the new features of the 2020 revised edition and an overview of upcoming professional development opportunities at the state/territory level.
MYAN developed the NYSF in 2016 to support and measure good practice with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. It remains Australia’s first and only evidence-based national guide to benchmark good practice in youth settlement, and is the only one of its kind globally. With practical tools, including Assessment Guides, the NYSF is designed to equip policy makers and service providers with the skills and knowledge to best support young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to thrive in Australia.
The 2020 edition includes updated information, a new section on youth work in Australia, new good practice capabilities and revised tools/resources to support application of the Framework in practice.
