National Simultaneous Storytime

Join us for National Simultaneous Storytime!
About this event
Once a year an Australian picture book is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Join us for this special storytime where we’ll be reading Family Tree, a sweet book written by Josh Pyke and beautifully illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh. Family Tree is a heartfelt celebration of family, community and the seasons of life to cherish and to share.
We are so thrilled to be able to have families back in the library for Storytime! We will be running weekly Storytime sessions at Fairfield, Northcote, Reservoir and Preston libraries. Bring your pre-schooler along for stories, songs and simple craft activities. Suitable for children aged 2–5 years.
This COVID Safe event is being held in person at Preston Library. The safety of our community and staff is our highest priority, so we’ve made some changes to the way Storytime works:
• To ensure social distancing is observed, we are limiting Storytime to ten families per session.
• It’s essential that you make a booking to attend and we also ask that you let us know ahead of time if you have booked and then can’t make it.
• Our Storytime will begin at 11am, but we ask that you arrive at 10.45am to ensure you have plenty of time to check in and get settled.
We know families come in all shapes and sizes. To deliver our Storytime sessions safely and observe social distancing requirements, your family booking allows you to bring one adult and up to two children. To bring additional family members, please make an additional booking.
