About this event
Join us and other libraries around Australia for a special Storytime session to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS)!
This years selected book 'Family Tree' and is written by Josh Pyke. This book starts with a seed, a seed that over time fills the garden with laughter..
A heartfelt celebration of family, community and the seasons of life, to cherish and to share.
The official story chosen for ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime 2022, to be celebrated all across Australia and New Zealand!
Join us for a very special reading of 'Family Tree' and decorate the library's family tree with your hand print and stay on for morning tea by creating your very own fruit family!
What is NSS all about?
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centers, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country and the world!
Now in its 22nd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
