EVENT IN ENGLISH

The Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP) is a non-for-profit organization established in 2014 to promote networking and collaboration between Spanish Researchers working in Australia – Pacific; support Australian research institutes and universities to understand and engage with Spanish Universities; and to assist Australian – Pacific Researchers to collaborate with Spanish Researchers.

In this event, a panel of Sydney-based SRAP members will present some of their scientific results in Biology, Ecology, Medicine, Physics, and Mathematics. After their short presentations, a panel discussion will follow. The speakers will engage the audience to participate in the discussion and answer their questions.

Speakers:

Sonia García (University of Technology Sydney): We are what we eat. Seafood sustainability and the markets.


Ana Montserrat-Martinez (University of New South Wales): What if antibiotics cannot be used anymore? A new Swiss knife to fight superbugs.


Eva Fernández (University of Technology Sydney): Life of a researcher in Antarctica.


Ana Vila-Concejo (University of Sydney): Beyond wonderful: protecting coral reefs to protect our coasts.


Guillermo Muñoz Matutano (Macquarie University): Artificial atoms: can we build the fundamental blocks of matter?


Ana Zumalacarregui Perez (University of New South Wales): Searching for structures in random sets of integers.
