The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health is proud to launch the National Intellectual Disability Health Research Symposium 2026.

This symposium will bring together researchers from across Australia who want to improve the health of people with intellectual disability.

The event is an opportunity for people to connect and share ideas.

Topics will include national research priorities, research translation, and culturally safe and inclusive research practice.

What we are trying to achieve

A key outcome of this event is to establish a National Research Network. This network will support researchers to stay connected, share knowledge, and work together to develop evidence‑based tools and strategies that improve health care for people with intellectual disability.

Why is the symposium online only?

The symposium is online to engage a large national audience of researchers. We have kept the prices low to allow more people to join the discussion.

This is not just a zoom meeting. Our symposium will be filmed in a studio and broadcast online. Participants will enjoy a high quality online experience.
