Event description
NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is a great opportunity for starting your writing journey and completing that novel.

About this Event

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is held nationally on an annual basis during each November. The Maylands Public Library will be hosting weekly informal creative writing workshops, based around the premise of Shaping a Novel from Life, to help participants reach their NaNoWriMo goal of writing a 50 thousand word novel in one month. View this link for further background on NaNoWrimo.

The following authors will be assisting at the sessions and appearing on these dates:

• 05/11/2020 - Bruce Russell - author, biographer and editor, will kick-start our NaNoWriMo sessions and provide an overview on shaping a novel from life.

• 12/11/2020 - Annabel Smith - author, of 'The Childrens House', will discuss her writings and explain the finer points on getting your novel shaped, including character and structure.

• 19/11/2020 - Bruce Russell and Sam Baker will discuss what’s selling at present; what bookshops look for from authors; the role of personal appearances and self-publishing.

• 26/11/2020 - Annie Girade - writer, editor and tutor, will speak about her work and provide some advice on how to tie up all those loose ends.

No previous writing experience necessary.
