Agenda

Before Learning

Upon completion of registration, you will become a microcredential learner at Deakin University. Expect to receive an email confirmation reserving your limited discounted place from Eventbrite and within a few days an email from Deakin University confirming your enrolment and containing links to access your learning. If you don’t have a FutureLearn account, you will need to create one to accept the invite and start learning. Within your confirmation of enrolment email there will be further instructions on how to activate your Deakin credentials (if you're not already a Deakin student), complete your Deakin profile, including payment preferences. This will provide you with access to Deakin systems (needed for submission of assessment) and Library and Learnign resources (which you'll find invaluable in your studies). Note: you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier to complete your Deakin profile.

How You'll Learn

You will be guided through asynchronous learning materials in FutureLearn. These are typically designed to be six weeks (designating 10-15 hours per week), but you can complete them at your own pace. Throughout your learning you will have access to industry and/or academic subject matter experts for support, including through 1:1 consultation sessions to help you with assessment preparations. You are required to submit an assessment within one of the four assessment submission windows available to you to complete and pass the course. You will then receive a digital credential and a half credit point of learning with Deakin University which can be used to stack with other microcredentials into a range of postgraduate courses.

After Learning

Upon submission of your assessment tasks, you can expect to receive feedback from your educator within 7 working days of the assessment window closing. If you pass you will receive a digital credential via Credly within 14 days. If you are a Deakin student, once you have achieved one credit point (i.e. two microcredentials), your credit will be transferred to your award degree automatically. This may take up to a month from your assessment window closure.
