During the last week of June 2019 Queensland will host The Big Week, consisting of not one, not two, but three big events:

  • The National Child Protection Conference – Co-hosted by the Child and Family Welfare Association of Australia (CAFWAA), the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP), and PeakCare Queensland (24 & 25 June 2019);

  • Advocacy Masterclass – Led by Professor Cindy Blackstock (26 June 2019); and

  • The QATSICPP Members’ Conference – Hosted by QATSICPP (27 & 28 June 2019).

This registration is for event one - The National Child Protection Conference on the 24th and 25th of June 2019.

About the National Child Protection Conference

The National Child Protection Conference will gather together policy-makers, researchers, service administrators and practitioners from government and non-government mainstream and community-controlled organisations from across the country to explore what’s hot in the world of child protection. This important conference will provide opportunities to showcase innovation as well as to explore and debate contentious issues currently confronting all Australian States and Territories.

The National Child Protection Conference will feature presentations from speakers and organisations from across the country and will include:

  • Keynote addresses

  • 90 minute workshops and panel-led discussions

  • 40 minute concurrent presentations, and

  • 10 minute express podium presentations.

The conference program will be made available closer to the conference commencement date.

Welcome Reception

Participants of the conference are invited to attend a free welcome reception following Day 1 of the National Child Protection Conference (5.15pm onwards). Drinks, canapes and entertainment will be provided.

Conference registration inclusions:

  • Day delegate package, inclusive of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Please ensure that any special dietary requirements are noted on the registration form.

  • Pens, note paper and mints provided daily.

How do I know that my registration has been received?

Once you have completed the online registration form you will receive a confirmation email. The email confirmation will be sent to the email address entered when registering for the conference. Please also check your Junk Email folder for the confirmation email.

What are my parking options?

Car parking is available at the Brisbane Convention Centre or the South Bank Public car park at a fee. Both are within a short walking distance to the hotel.

Access for people living with disabilities is available throughout the hotel complex. Please indicate upon registering if you have any special needs.

Photos, videos and media

Photos and videos will be used for media and promotion of the event. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken or to be filmed during or after the conference, please advise upon daily registration so that we can ensure no images or videos are shared for promotional activities.

What is the cancellation policy?

We hope that you will not have to cancel your registration, however, should this be necessary cancellations received 30 days prior to the event commencement date will receive a full refund of the registration fee paid. Participants are welcome to send another person in their place. Please update your registration or advise PeakCare Queensland of the name change prior to the event.

It is strongly recommended that delegates purchase travel insurance.
