Natalie Nicolas & Lachner
Event Information
About this Event
Returning to the stage for the first time in 2020, the Canberra Sinfonia will be playing works by Australian Natalie Nicolas and F Lachner.
Delight in two pieces by Australian composer Natalie Nicolas, The Business of Recovery and The End. Both originally written for string quartet, Natalie has reinvented them specifically for this Canberra Sinfonia performance, bringing out a range of joyous and reflective moods for this special Canberra premiere. Then you’ll be captivated by Franz Lachner’s Nonet, a superbly crafted but little-known masterpiece with all the hallmarks of a symphony, yet the gorgeous intimacy of a chamber ensemble. Lachner shows Romantic musicality and style at its finest, carrying all of the melodic joy and elegance that can be heard in similar timeless works by Beethoven, Schubert or Brahms.
Limited seating is available for this one-off concert, with support of the Wesley Music Centre. Audience members will be appropriately socially distanced, and pre-booking is essential as there will be no tickets for sale at the event.
Join the Canberra Sinfonia to celebrate live music as we bring new and romantic highlights to life for this memorable performance.
