NAPA Connects: From Silence to Speech - A n Eye Gaze Journey
Overview
THE TOPIC
Join us for a very special presentation from Sevinc MacCue-Mayall who will take you first-hand through her own journey with both physical and invisible disabilities, including her introduction to AAC from an early age, her growth, learnings and transformation into high tech AAC, and in particular, the impact that eye gaze has had on her life. She will also touch on other important aspects of her daily life including her sense of identity and voice, relationships, mental health and employment. This will be an extraordinary presentation from a determined person who has been through it personally, and Sevinc will deliver this engaging workshop through her eye gaze device. Additional perspectives will be provided on the night by her mother Amira MacCue and Lindsay Macpherson from The Caring Way.
Sevinc will present for the first part of the evening and then open up the floor for questions. If you have any questions you know you would like to ask Sev about her life, journey or AAC, please submit them here (Email: paul@napacentre.com.au) and we will do our best to prepare for and answer as many questions as we can on the night.
