NAPA Connects: All about bedding options and supported lying

THE TOPIC
This friendly, easy-to-understand session introduces the basics of 24-hour postural care, explains what supported lying is and why it’s important, and helps you know where to start when looking for a high-sided bed that suits your child.
PRESENTER INFORMATION
Steph Bell is a Paediatric Product Trainer based in Sydney, Australia. She began her career in New Zealand, working for a direct-to-market company for over three years. In this role, she worked with a wide range of clients, therapists, and families across the North Island, creating innovative solutions using assistive technology. After her move to Australia, Steph worked for over two years as a Paediatric Specialist for an assistive technology provider, before joining Medifab.
In her role at Medifab, Steph focuses on empowering therapists, dealers and families to make confident, informed decisions with assistive technology. She tailors training to individual and group needs, combining practical, hands-on learning with theory to ensure people feel capable in choosing, adjusting, and using products to their full potential. Steph is a collaborative resource, sharing her expertise and experiences while working closely with others to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
Charlotte Walker is an Occupational Therapist with a background in working with people who have complex neurological and physical disabilities in the community. When training as an Occupational Therapist, Charlotte also worked as a Support Worker. She also has more recent experience teaching final year occupational therapy students in an assistive technology specific unit at tertiary level.
These diverse experiences have given her unique insights into the learning needs of a range of audiences when it comes to assistive technology. Charlotte is passionate about supporting all to make assistive technology as easy to understand as possible, so people can spend more time doing everyday activities and less time being unsure what product is best suited to their needs and goals.
In her role at Medifab, Charlotte is responsible for supporting and training distributors and dealers across the paediatric product range, to lead to successful trials and product use
The online discussion goes for 1 hour and will include opportunity to have your questions answered.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Therapists, Parents, relatives and other unpaid carers of people with disability, who may be seeking more information or advice about their child in regards to beding solutions. It is not intended that your children attend this workshop. The content presented will be relevant for any carers or parents of children.
THE WEBINAR
The session will be presented online via a Microsoft Teams session, which will require you to have access to a computer and Wifi. The session is anticipated to run for 1 hour including some time for questions (which may be submitted via the chat function). A Microsoft Teams link will be forwarded closer to the event.
The presentation is due to commence at 7.00pm AEDT. You will be able to submit any questions during the presentation via chat, but we do ask that you keep your microphones muted throughout. We will try and get to as many questions on the night, but please note that we may not have time or we may not be able to answer specific questions in the group environment.
