Organiser My Choice Matters and Council for Intellectual Disability

Organiser of My Choice Matters 'Shared Stories' Launch

My Choice Matters is a project of the Council for Intellectual Disability, but we work with people with all disabilities and their families.

Our goal is to help people to live life their way and get the most out of the changing disability system. We do this by supporting people to learn and practice new ways of doing things and develop and grow skills in three key areas: choice, voice and control – three very important qualities people should have in their own lives.

We run information workshops, online learning and leadership courses, and peer networks. We share stories and experiences and we create useful resources and videos. Make sure you check them out on this website.

Importantly, My Choice Matters is:

Based on what people say they want
Inclusive
Responsive
Driving change in thinking
Transparent and accountable
Active

Central to My Choice Matters’ approach is people sharing their experiences, learning from each other and working together to open up new ways of thinking and new possibilities.
