Event description

Description

The City of Sydney joins forces with Musica Viva to bring you a series of free musical workshops for kids at Green Square Library.

These fun music workshops for primary school-aged students are designed to develop a love of music. No matter what their musical experience, these interactive performances will challenge, delight and enrich.

Saturday 23 September, – 2pm– 3pm

Teranga

West African ensemble Teranga, is led by charismatic Senegalese musician Pape M'Baye. Pape has shared the stage with music legends BB King, Miles Davis and Ringo Starr. Their percussion-based music transports audiences to a world of poetic, rhythmic storytelling, where tales of small village life become metaphors for how we live today.

A crowd favourite at Musica Viva Festival’s Family Day program, Teranga will get children up on their feet with their high energy show.

In this free workshop, children will get to experience all the fun of a Musica Viva In Schools ensemble at Green Square Library.

Suitable for kids of all skill levels and ages 8 to12 years. There is limited capacity, so bookings are essential. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Green Square Library is wheelchair friendly.
