Description

This event is currently booked out. Come along and join our 'walk up' queue on the day - we open up all empty seats 5 minutes before the event starts. Hope to see you there!

The City of Sydney joins forces with Musica Viva to bring you a series of free musical masterclasses and performances at Green Square Library.

For high school and university students, teachers and adults, get the opportunity to absorb and observe 2 unique masterclasses. Members of the acclaimed Pacifica Quartet and Sitkovetsky Trio work with talented music students on a piece of their own work.

For primary school-aged students, there are 2 fun music workshops designed to develop a love of music. No matter your musical experience, this interactive performance will challenge, delight and enrich.

Musica Viva at Green Square – Doctor Stovepipe

Purveyors of hot jazz, gypsy swing, Appalachian folk music and ragtime, The Doctor is ready to make the stage sizzle. Fresh from their Musica Viva national tour, this energetic crew will put a smile on any face.

This interactive workshop features songs about lesser animals known to science, set to sweet harmonies with a rollicking foundation of guitar, bass, fiddle and banjo.

Leave your sitting still at home and get ready to sing and try body percussion. Participate in dance and call and response as we explore the different elements of jazz, gypsy folk and ragtime.

Suitable for kids of all skill levels, ages 8-12, this free event has limited capacity, so bookings are essential. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Green Square Library is wheelchair friendly.
