Description

The Moth Hunters: Traditional Indigenous life in the Canberra region by Dr Josephine Flood. Presented by Museum Friends and the Canberra Archaeological Society

Wednesday 21 March 2018, 6pm

The story of Indigenous peoples' survival in the harsh environment of the Australian Alps, and their unique exploitation of nutritious bogong moths, deserves to be more widely known and celebrated. Archaeologist and author Dr Josephine Flood shares her research, which examines the value of insects as a food source and sheds light on this ancient cultural practice.
